Creating your own cloud database

Creating your own database is simple and requires only a legitimate email to perform a standard verification. After installing Heartwood and loading it up for the first time you should be brought to the log in screen.

At the bottom of the screen you should see Create a Taproot database, if you don't see this you are most likely within the Locally hosted options. To change this click the Gear icon in the top left corner and toggle the Self-hosted option.

After pressing the Create a Tapoot database button a window will appear where you can choose the name of your database and the email at which the verification email will be sent to.

Inputting a name to check if the name is available press the Check availability button.

Database names need to be at least 4 characters and can only contain letters and can not be changed at a later date.

Once you have verified you will receive another email confirming the creation of your database.

Now you will be able to log in for the first time.

The default log in details are

  • User: rooty
  • Password: heartwood
  • Group: The name of the database you chose
